Why, What, and How we do what we do at BridgeMill Animal Hospital:
Why: We are patient advocates who understand the vital role of your fur family members
There was an outbreak in the Canine Flu Virus in Georgia that rapidly spread towards the Canton area. This flu virus is extremely contagious for dogs and can cause symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, a runny nose with drainage, not eating, fever and lethargy. Some deaths have been reported. We need to be proactive to prevent this widespread virus from making your pet sick. Please call today to make your appointment for the Flu Vaccine. The vaccine is a series of two vaccines given 3 weeks apart and then annually.
If your pet is showing any of the signs of the flu such as coughing, sneezing and a runny nose, please call us for an appointment. Once you arrive, please leave your pet in the car and notify us to let us know that you are here. We will perform a curbside exam.
Updated 09/21/2018: North Georgia has been downgraded from being a hotbed for the Canine Influenza virus. Due to the diminished prevelance, we are highly recommending the influenza vaccine but not requiring it for dogs day grooming or our surgical patients. However, we are still requiring the influenza vaccine for dogs boarding with us. We do reserve the right to re-institute our previous policy if the influenza virus re-emerges in our area. We have added both strands to our flu vaccine (H3N2N8) for better protection for you pets!
